Our Wines

As seekers of the truth, we strive to create wines that express the unique character of the site and soils in which they are grown. We are partial to wines made from mountain fruit, which led us to the mountain estate vineyards we own in the Diamond Mountain and Moon Mountain District AVAs. Our philosophy aligns perfectly with the viewpoint of our winemaker, Thomas Rivers Brown, who has crafted Theorem wines since our founding in 2012. Thomas’ philosophy of letting the site dictate the way a wine is produced has made him one of Napa Valley’s most respected winemakers. His wines have earned the highest acclaim, including more than twenty-five 100-point scores in Wine Advocate.

  • Voir Dire

Voir Dire is the flagship wine of Theorem Vineyards. Produced from the oldest vines on our Diamond Mountain estate, this 100% Cabernet Sauvignon is a complex, captivating and timeless wine. Built to age, Voir Dire is a stunning reflection of soil and microclimate, full-bodied and supremely balanced with highly extracted black fruit flavors. The name is a legal term often translated as meaning “to speak the truth,” and the wine is a tribute to Jason Itkin’s work as an attorney as well as a reminder that the truth is often spoken after a glass (or two) of wine. • Hawk's Prey

Hawk's Prey is a Cabernet Sauvignon drawn from a block our family planted together in our Diamond Mountain vineyard in 2014. As we worked, numerous hawks circled above us, and we joked about who their prey might be. We also learned that hawks mate for life, and so we named this block Hawk's Prey. The young vines in this block give us a wine that is similar in flavor profile to Voir Dire, but Hawk's Prey is more vibrant and youthful, smoother and more approachable at a younger age.

  • Moon Mountain District AVA Wines

In 2018, we were pleased to harvest the first fruit from our estate vineyard on Moon Mountain.

We look forward to telling you more about these wines and sharing them with you in the future.
