Theorem Vineyard’s 2018 Moon Mountain District Syrah is the first Syrah we’ve produced, and we’re thrilled to share it with you. The grapes were grown in a vineyard nestled at the top of Moon Mountain District at 1,600 feet of elevation, where winds between the Pacific Ocean and San Pablo Bay create warm days and cool nights. That diurnal shift in temperature is what creates world-class wines, and it is what wine connoisseurs look for when they’re discovering the next great region.
Like all of our wines, our Syrah tells the story of the land and soil. The magnificent soil, delicious grapes, and rare climate of Moon Mountain District create a wine that is equally magnificent, delicious, and rare.
Our Syrah starts with a rich dollop of ripe red plumbs, baked strawberries and rhubarb. Layered on top are savory accents of fresh cracked pepper, lavender, and Italian amaro. Soft, silky and voluptuous, the wine rolls over the palate while fine grained tannins and focused acidity pushes the flavors through to a powerful and lingering finish of savory herbs and ripe berries.
