Syrah High Elevation. Old Soul

Born high on Moon Mountain, where coastal winds meet volcanic rock.

Wild Aromatics, Mountain Nerve

Moon Mountain Syrah

Coastal lift, volcanic grip, and whole-cluster swagger.

Perched between 1,600 and 1,800 feet on our Moon Mountain estate, this Syrah marries warm, sunlit days with cool, marine nights driven by Pacific and San Pablo Bay. Volcanic soils and a steady afternoon breeze deliver power and freshness in equal measure.

Planted in 2004, with a light hand: select whole-cluster fermentation (increasing over time), minimal new oak (often neutral), and aging sur lie with no racking until bottling at 15–16 months. Small lots stay separate before blending for tension, detail, and the savory, old-world profile we love.

Blackberry. Olive. Pepper & Lift.

In the glass: blackberry, plum sauce, espresso, and lavender, with savory notes of green olive, sage, amaro, and a crack of black pepper. The palate is silky yet structured—fine-grain mountain tannins, bright acidity, and a long, herbal-tinged finish. Thrilling on release with air, it ages 8–15+ years with style.

“Very old-world—Syrah funk, whole cluster, and patience. It’s an age-worthy Syrah from the top of the mountain.” —Andy Jones, Winemaker

“Syrah isn’t polite—and that’s the point. Aromatics, chew, and a little wildness. We’re obsessed.”
— Kisha Itkin, Founder & CEO
