Our Flagship Wine

Voir Dire

Diamond Mountain’s legacy block—black-fruited, finely etched, and built to age.

The Cabernet Sauvignon that started it all: the wine that convinced us to turn a forgotten mountain property into Theorem. Meaning “to speak the truth,” Voir Dire is a nod to co-founder Jason Itkin’s work as a trial attorney—and to the deeper truth of place, revealed in the glass.

Drawn from our original Diamond Mountain estate planted in 1985, these old vines — one of the few remaining heritage vineyards planted to Clone 8 Cabernet Sauvignon in Napa Valley, at 1,100 feet on volcanic rock above Calistoga — are farmed row by row and harvested in small passes, often late into October, for poise and depth. Each lot is fermented and aged separately, then blended with a light hand to let the vineyard lead.

Black Fruit. Graphite.
Mountain Lift.

In the glass: vivid red currant and cherry, graphite, and crushed rock; fine, persistent tannin and natural acidity that carry a long finish. Elegant today, Voir Dire Diamond Mountain District Cabernet Sauvignon unfurls beautifully with time—best from 5–7 years after release and capable of aging two decades or more.

“It smells like the soil that first drew us here—terroir you can feel.” - Kisha Itkin, Founder & CEO

“A legacy block—elegant, black-fruited, and the wines I’ll hang my career on.”
— Andy Jones, Winemaker
