Hawk's Prey

Hawk’s Prey was named for a moment during a July day among the vineyards. While the Itkin family was helping plant the vineyard, they noticed hawks circling them overhead. One family member asked what the birds were preying on, and a vineyard worker joked that, in the scorching heat of the day, it could very well be the people working in the vineyard.

Now, the fruit of those vines live in the bottles of this Cabernet Sauvignon.

This release is the first harvest of these vines that were cloned from Jenkins clone. The Jenkins clone has produced truly legendary wines, and we expect Hawk’s Prey to join a proud list of great vintages.

Hawk’s Prey is 100% Cabernet Sauvignon with spectacular tasting notes. It has an opaque purple core out to a ruby red rim. On the nose, there are elegant, complex aromas of ripe plums, milk chocolate, wild blackberries, cassis, violets, and warm, freshly tilled earth. On the pallet, the wine is soft and lush with a dense core of flavors that mirror the nose. The tannins are smooth and silky; while adding structure, they are seamlessly integrated.
